Rail monitoring
Lynton Surveys provide several monitoring systems to ensure the safety of railway structures and patrons.
Backed by rugged, functional and discrete hardware, our systems operate continuously, combining different types of sensors and communications methods.
We can provide continuous solar power with several days of battery backup as well as wireless LAN, radio modem and GSM communication links.
Our rail real-time monitoring system procedure involves:
- Measurement: Performed and analysed on a cycle suitable to client needs
- Data transfer: Sent from the in-situ monitoring system to a centralised server via mobile on LAN communications.
- Analysis: Each round of new data file is processed by the server to produce derived measurements for convergence, top, twists, super, gauge, or client specific requirements.
- Alarming: Results are tested against monitoring limits and alarms are sent, if necessary. The time taken between the completion of the measurements to the alarming phase is less than 20 seconds.
- Daily reporting: Data for the previous day is summarised and reported in a clear and concise manner. Raw data will be available upon request.
